What are blacklisted variants?

  • Updated

Blacklisted variants are variants that have been determined to be false positives, i.e., systematic error variants. These variants have been identified through a series of internal validation runs across different sample types.

The Panel file used during raw data processing on the Tapestri DNA Pipeline includes a .bed file that lists the genomic loci of all blacklisted variants. The generated .loom file will not include such blacklisted variants if they are detected in the sample.
