Can I change the default variant filters and how were these filters determined?

The default filters can only be changed if the pipeline is executed manually using the CLI. These filters were determined based on our historic filtering approaches from Tapestri Pipeline DNA data analysis and also based on analysis using NIST known truth datasets.
